We take great care, from productions to shipment, to insure your gift arrives safe and sound. If you aren't satisfied with the condition of your purchase simply return your order for a prompt refund or replacement, whichever you prefer.

Delivery Options
Orders placed after 10 am CST will be promptly filled on the next business day.

Standard (Ground) deliveries take 1-6 business days to arrive. For an additional charge, 2-Day (delivery within 2 business days), Next Day (delivery within one business day). Note: Late deliveries are always possible, but we’ve done our best to ensure they’re as infrequent as possible.

Warm Weather Shipping Policy
Special Warm Weather Shipping is an additional $25.00* during the summer months, and for shipments to warm destinations.

For shipments to warm weather (over 70°) destinations and during the summer months, we must take extra precautions to prevent your chocolates from melting in transit. Because chocolates are perishable, we take special care. Your box is packed with insulation and gel ice, as needed and expedited shipping.

Orders ship on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (we don't ship on Thursday and Friday because your chocolates would sit on a truck over the weekend turning into chocolate soup). 

Do you ship chocolate outside of the United States?
Shipping is limited to the 50 United States. Chocolate can also melt in transit, and this is more likely when shipped outside the United States.

Sales Tax

Local and state sales tax is charged on merchandise being shipped to and from addresses in Illinois.

Restrictions

  • Please note that we cannot ship to P.O. Boxes. You must provide a street address for your order. Be sure to include appropriate suite or apartment numbers, when necessary, to ensure proper delivery.
  • Deliveries are made on weekdays; to make sure your chocolates arrive in proper condition, we may choose not to ship an order over the weekend.
  • Due to the perishable nature of our chocolates, we are not able to ship outside of the U.S.


Do you make custom gift baskets and chocolates?

Yes, we have a long tradition of beautiful custom baskets and gifts. We can add a customer-supplied ribbon or sticker to your gift baskets or to one of our existing gift packages. Lead time runs 3-6 weeks from time of approval. Contact our business gifts team at retail@longgrove.com for more information.

What kind of chocolate do you use?
Long Grove Confectionery purchases chocolate as a finished ingredient from various suppliers. The cacao beans used to make that chocolate are grown primarily in West Africa, Dominican Republic, and Peru. Our chocolatiers melt and temper the finished chocolate, then add grade A butter, cream, nuts to create our delicious chocolates, confections, and gifts. 

Do all your chocolates contain allergens?
At this time yes. Most of our chocolates contain soy lecithin. Some of our products contain peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs, wheat, and/or gluten; it varies by product, and we cannot guarantee that any are entirely free of trace amounts of these ingredients. All of our chocolates are manufactured in the same factory with the same equipment, which could pose the risk of cross-contamination.

Are any of your chocolates kosher?
All of our products are certified CRC Dairy Kosher by the Chicago Rubbinical Council, with the exception of our Crispie and Marshmallow Pops, and S’mores. Due to the manufacturing process, we cannot guarantee that any product is entirely free of minute traces of dairy, as there is a potential for cross-contamination. This prevents our products from being pareve.
